The Unveiling of the Fountain in Front of the Bled Municipal Building

Saturday 1 June 2002 at 9.00

At 09.00 the presidents will leave Grand Hotel Toplice and walk from the lake (in the case of bad weather a bus will be used) to the to the location of the fountain to be unveiled in commemoration of the Ninth Meeting of the Presidents of Central European States.

At the same time on Lake Bled the Godba Gorje group will play in three pletnja boats (Avsenikov vencek and other melodies), while members of the Bled and Ribno folk groups will dance on the shore. The Mayor of Bled will accompany the presidents to the municipal building where the LIP Bled octet will sing Oj, Triglav moj dom [Oh Triglav, my home] to announce the beginning of the ceremony. Prof. Janez Fajfar will present the concept of the fountain (created by sculptor Slavko Oblak) and say a few words on the bird of paradise. A fanfare will sound at the water will begin to flow - and the fountain will be symbolically opened.

Immediately afterwards the presidents will sign the Golden Book of the Municipality of Bled.
