Born 8 September 1946 in Sarajevo. Graduated from the Faculty of
Economics of the University of Sarajevo.
He is married and has a son.
Prior to the war, until 1992, worked with the state and municipal
administration.
During the war he held the position of Defence Secretary of the
Municipality of Ilidza and the Vice-President of Executive Board of
the Municipality of Ilidza.
From 1996 to 1998 held the post of the Minister for Labour, Social
Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees in the Government of the Canton
of Sarajevo. Elected as delegate of the Assembly of the Canton of
Sarajevo and the counsellor of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo.
In 2000, at the November election, elected member of the House of
Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and
Herzegovina.
He has been the member of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina
since its establishment and the president of the Cantonal Council of
Sarajevo.
His wife, a professor of French, is employed at the Third
Gymnasium. His son is married and has lived in the United States since
1996.
Since 30 March 2001, Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and
Herzegovina.
